A wedding day timeline that leaves room for light
How to plan the day around the sun, not the other way round.
The best timelines are written backwards from sunset. Find the golden hour for your date, keep twenty minutes free around it, and fit the meal and speeches either side.
Leave a quiet ten minutes straight after the ceremony. It is the one moment in the day when nobody needs anything from you, and the photographs from it are often the ones couples print.
Ask your venue when the room gets its best light. Most barns glow in the late afternoon, most glasshouses at dusk.
